CEO & Chief Science Officer
Josh Williams is CEO at Kontagent, and also serves as chief science officer.
He manages Kontagent’s strategic revenue projects, data science initiatives and corporate development. Josh is responsible for driving Kontagent’s world-class proprietary data processing, analysis platform and algorithms into new verticals and markets. Read more.
A serial entrepreneur, Josh has extensive experience transforming technology companies into industry leaders. Prior to Kontagent, he served in executive positions at two highly successful startups. He was the CTO at a big data firm specializing in automated real-time financial securities analysis until it was acquired in 2003. Josh was also the CEO and CTO at a leading game technology company where he guided its growth until its acquisition in 2007.

Head of Engineering
Charles Marker manages Kontagent’s engineering team. He is responsible for overseeing the design and development of Kontagent’s next generation of data intelligence solutions. Read more.
Charles is a Silicon Valley veteran and has held executive positions at a number of prominent technology firms. Prior to Kontagent, Charles was VP of operations and developer software at Yahoo! In this role, he was responsible for developing software for managing the company’s infrastructure and enabling software development for its properties. He also served as VP of software at Qualcomm Atheros, where he was in charge of software development for Wi-Fi and GPS products. Charles also co-founded BDNA Corporation, a leading provider of IT infrastructure insight and analysis. He was VP of engineering at Geocast Network Systems and has held various senior management roles, including director of engineering, at Silicon Graphics, Inc.
Charles has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He began his technology career as a scientist at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory developing super computer operating systems. Read less.
Head of Data Science Innovation
John Peterson manages Kontagent’s data science team. He is responsible for overseeing Kontagent’s data science research and development, as well as the commercialization of its data science algorithms. Read more.
A Silicon Valley veteran, John has held executive positions at Hewlett-Packard, Oracle and Yahoo! In these roles, he was responsible for engineering, marketing, sales and consulting delivery, as well as business and corporate development. In addition, he worked for DirecTV’s broadband division, leading its mobile and satellite Web and business intelligence infrastructure. He also served as VP of e-commerce at USWeb (formerly US/Web CKS), where he headed its Silicon Valley engineering and consulting practice.
John has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley where he studied computer science and econometrics. He also holds an MBA from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management. John began his career at SRI International working as a big data researcher and econometrician. Jimmy Fan is the company’s steady hand, working to ensure all of Kontagent’s day-to-day operations run smoothly. Read more.
Jimmy’s knowledge of the mobile data and technology industry is vast, and he possesses years of domain expertise on both the business and technical side of the field. Before Kontagent, Jimmy served in technical leadership roles at Bell Mobility and Bell Canada, Canada’s largest telecommunications company. He facilitated collaboration among the organization’s internal teams and helped bring a variety of emerging mobile technologies to market. Jimmy also aided in developing business and technology solutions for Research In Motion and NVIDIA during their days of massive growth.
Jimmy graduated with a bachelor’s degree in system design engineering from the University of Waterloo. He also has a master’s degree in telecommunications from the University of Toronto. Jimmy is based in Kontagent’s Toronto office. Read less.
Head of Marketing & GM, New Mobile Markets
Catherine Mylinh oversees Kontagent’s marketing team, where she is responsible for market positioning, product marketing, analyst and press relations. She also leads the company’s new mobile markets business unit, which concentrates on R&D to build analytics solutions for companies with mobile-first business models. Read more.
Catherine has worked in both B2B and B2C high-tech spaces, where she successfully led multimillion-dollar product launches and spearheaded brand and demand generation programs for several publicly traded companies.
Prior to her move to tech marketing, Catherine was a news anchor for NBC and CBS stations throughout the country. In 2006, Catherine was the lead reporter for coverage on a quadruple murder, in which she and her news team earned an Emmy Award for Best Daytime Newscast. Her broadcast career began in San Francisco where she covered the Bay Area’s business and tech sectors.

Head of Customer Success & GM, Mobile Enterprise
Nils Vinje leads Kontagent’s mobile enterprise business team, which focuses on researching and developing analytics solutions for businesses within the travel and retail industries. Prior to joining Kontagent, Nils served as director of customer engagement for a San Francisco-based startup where he instrumented key programs to drive customer engagement and retention. He is also a professional coach and has a passion for helping others achieve their goals and dreams, both in business and in life.
Nils has a bachelor’s degree in information systems from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He also possesses an MBA in management and organizational behavior from the College of Business Administration at Loyola Marymount University. Read less.

Anthony Yoo leads Kontagent’s strategic channels business. He is responsible for fostering and establishing key business partnerships, as well as helping to transform Kontagent’s products to meet long-term business goals. Read more.
Prior to Kontagent, Anthony was an integral member of the corporate development team at Salesforce where he led large cross-functional teams through multiple strategic acquisitions and integrations. He also spent several years in Deloitte Consulting’s core strategy practice. In his role, he advised executives at Fortune 500 technology companies on enterprise restructuring, go-to-market strategies, complex project management and business operations.
Anthony has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Waterloo, as well as an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He has a wide breadth of professional experience ranging from technology sales to corporate strategy. Read less.
Farlan Dowell is responsible for growing Kontagent’s international game analytics business. As a mobile and social gaming expert, he is adept at helping developers identify solutions that drive revenue and market share. Read more.
Farlan has over a decade of mobile experience and has worked with some of the biggest names in gaming today, including EA, Warner Bros., Turner Broadcasting, Glu Mobile, WMS, Mattel and many more. Before coming to Kontagent, Farlan served as director of business development at Mobile Messaging Solutions, a mobile solutions provider. His insight and leadership led the company through a massively successful growth phase that culminated in the acquisition of its iTV business in 2011. Farlan was also a GM at New Motion, a game publisher and ad network which went public on the NASDAQ. In his role, he spearheaded numerous product launches and developed strategies that nearly doubled customer spending. He was also a senior product manager at Airborne Entertainment, an early mobile studio which was successfully acquired by Cybird Holdings Co. in Tokyo, Japan.
Farlan has a bachelor’s degree in business and information systems from St. Francis Xavier University. A Canadian native, he now calls the heart of Silicon Valley his home. Read less.
