Setting Up Your First Application
If this is your first time using Kontagent, start here to get an overview of how applications and users are added and managed in the Kontagent system.
Important: Use this section as a reference while you create your first users in the Setting Up Users and User Permissions section, and your first application instances in the Setting Up For Testing, QA, and Production section.
Setup Overview
Upon logging in, you will be presented with the My Apps page of your account. Please note, if your email address is linked to more than one account, you will be prompted to select the relevant account you wish to access after you sign in. In the My Apps page, you will see an Applications panel providing an overview of all your applications. You can also add and remove applications, as well as edit application user access from this page.
In the Applications panel, you can perform the following actions:
- View the Kontagent Dashboard for an application
- Add/Remove an application
- Edit user access for each application
- View Daily Uniques of each application
- View Installs of each application
- View when data was last updated for an application
- View Kontagent SAMS (Real-Time Social Application Monitoring System)
Adding An Application
- Step 1: Click on the Add Application button.
- Step 2: Fill in the details about your application in the pop up window, including Platform, Platform Type, and Application Name.
- Step 3: Click Submit to create your new application instance.
Where Is My API Key?
After you have added an application, click on the edit link beside the application name to open the Edit Application window. Your API Key is listed there.
Controlling Application Access
Important: Admin users have global access to all applications. To restrict application access of Admin users, you must demote them to Editor or Read-Only level. To learn how to change user permissions, see Setting Up Users and User Permissions. By default, all existing users are granted access to newly created applications. If you wish to restrict new users, they must have their application access changed after you have created their account.
To control which users are able to access an application:
- Step 1: Click on the edit link beside the application name to open the Edit Application window.
- Step 2: To add/remove application access to a user, use the arrow buttons to move the user between Users Without Access and Users With Access in the Edit Application window.
- Step 3: Click on Save to apply these changes.
Removing An Application
- Step 1: Click on the edit link beside the application name to open the Edit Application window.
- Step 2: Click on the Remove App button. Once an application is removed, all data will be lost!
- Step 3: Click on Save to apply these changes.
